Fish must alter how they float in order to move upwards and downwards under water. And that is critical, for if they have no ability to position themselves in the water, they could either all be lying on the bottom of the lake of sank or all floating to its surface. If it did, they would find swimming around, finding food to eat and staying hidden from other animals that might want to eat them very difficult. Fortunately, fish have a separate part within their anatomy that assists them in increasing buoyancy; this is called the gas bladder.
A gas bladder, known as a swim bladder in fish (basically it is the same structure), is a kind of a special bag filled with air inside many fishes and some frogs. You can imagine it like a little balloon that gets filled with gas produced by the fish itself. This gas helps the fish have stability when they are in water. The gas bladder of certain fish is associated with its stomach while in other fish it is free to float and sink on its own. However, this organ is very important to fish— it helps them get around under water.
If a fish wants to swim up, or sink down a little bit, it controls how much gas in in its bladder. When the fish adds more gas to the bladder, it makes them more buoyant, and they begin to rise up through the water column. If it burps enough of the gas from its bladder, however, it deflates and becomes denser-than-the-water-and-skinks to the bottom. The fish have special muscles and nerves surrounding the gas bladder that allow them to do so. And these muscles collaborateto keep the fish in balanceby giving it control overthe amount of gas inside the bladder,so that it can go swimming wherethe heck it wants to swipe right on other fishes!
Fish rain barrel water are incredibly useful because animals that live in water have such a hard time to survive without it Fish often have to swim at different depths and adapt to many different situations in the underwater world by being able to control their floatiness This is a very useful thing for them, because they can use this to escape from their predators who would want to eat them down in the deep, get food necessary for life and explore new areas of the ocean. And because they can float high on the water as well, fish have the luxury of becoming even more aquatic; giving them fins for swimming and long slender bodies to swim even faster.

Based upon the specific type of fish or frog, the gas bladder may have a different shape and size. It might be a simple pouch, perfectly round or else complexly folded. This gas can be either oxygen, nitrogen, or a combination of various gases. But it varies with species of fish and frogs, and their habitats.
The gas bladder is present in most fishes, and it lies near the spinal cord and also connected to the stomach. This organ is known as the swim bladder and fish have specialized muscles that allow them to control this gas volume. Then there is the frog, which also has a gas bladder except their gas bladder is more like a lung. Not only does this upper lung give them the ability to control their buoyancy, it also acts as a breathing organ. Frogs get oxygen in a different way because they can take it through their lungs and skin.
